Laurent Bernard Chocolatier Black Forest Cake
A slice of rich goodness


A couple of weekends ago, I attended a baking workshop at Laurent Bernard Chocolatier !!
The order of the day was to learnt to bake a Black Forest Cake... which turned out to be far more difficult than what I had envisioned, aka, it's probably worth every single cent of the retail price.

At Laurent Bernard, they value good quality and respect every ingredient. The ingredients used for baking are all good stuff. You can really taste the richness in each bite of the Black Forest Cake. Am truly craving for a slice now. It's safely the best Black Forest Cake I have tasted yet.


Laurent Bernard Chocolatier Prior to the class, I thought that Black Forest Cake is uncomplicated and straightforward. Sponge cake with cream and cherries. Well, think again. There's more than meets the eye. There's even almond paste in the cake and the baking chocolate has to be of a certain percentage to ensure that the ganache is of the right consistency!

I really do have a great deal of respect for Mr Black Forest Cake.

Would really love to hang out at their cafe sometime.
